Mergui Archipelago

For you to enter this place you will have to pass through Kawthaung after this you can take a boat ride to the islands. Once you arrive there you will realize that there are more than 800 unspoilt islands at this place which is a home for Moken or sea gypsies. People who have traveled to this place have revealed that these gypsies are capable of diving more than 60 meters deep with rocks tied around their waists and they breath using an air nose which is held above the water surface.

Yan Aung Nan Aung Hsu Taung Pye Paya

This is a village to the west of Inle Lake. Some of the things which make this village so special is the astonishing number of pagodas and stupas. It has more than 1,000 pagodas some of which are believed to have been built in the 12th century. Once you visit it you will realise that there is a mysterious atmosphere which is around this ancient brick structures some of which have been covered by vegetables. However, you will realise that not all pagodas in this village are very old as there are also some of them which have been constructed in recent years. You will find interesting to see how construction and architectural designs have evolved from the 12th century. As you move around these pagodas it’s good that you move to the end where you will see the modern stupas. Here there is a small isolates pagoda which is accessible by a clean path and you can have a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
